Paul Gaultier jean bracelet high-end fantasy vintage jewelry collection in metal and lucite material. Condition/Size? Very original collectible model since it is a trompe l'oeil watch/fake watch, the large central lucite jewel is integrated on a square base of aged bronze and silver metal with rounded edges. For the record, lucite is a plastic with thermosetting properties which cannot be melted and reformed, invented in 1937 it was used to make the windows of war planes then it was used from 1950 onwards for jewelry, it can also be called bakelite. Viewed in profile you can observe the magnificent dome of transparent and shiny lucite which, like a case, contains a slightly distorted watch painting like the melted clocks of the painter Dali, shiny white dial on a deep black background with golden Roman numeral and stamp "" Gaultier"" oval in the center in real gold leaf. Steampunk universe which mixes aesthetics with science fiction and technological elements through different styles: Victorian Era (England) the Belle Époque (France) the War of Succession (Usa). Chain bracelet with compact and rounded links in aged bronze and silver metal in the shape of a Machinery pipe, on each side of the central jewel are two rings which allow the chain to be inserted to double it while providing good support so visually we can see an elongated openwork loop which is finished with a metal ring thanks to which the two chains are well glued to each other to in turn be tightened in a finishing metal cap. Each stopper has a ring, one of which is connected to the superb clasp in the form of an adjustable spring wheel, so when you activate the clasp it locks in order to have time to insert it into the other ring, a Once it is in position, you must press it again to close. The clasp is like a piece of jewelry and therefore removable, so be careful when you put the bracelet on top of a table so that the bracelet does not fall. Vintage condition very good to good condition, moderate use and bracelet mostly stored for a few years. As a reminder, artisanal and non-industrial creation, micro-irregularities and differences in color may appear. Lucite in very good condition because it is shiny, rare micro scratches but soft to the touch. Metal in good condition because of patina linked to time which brings different shades but brings a lot of character to the collector's piece. General metal, slightly pronounced micro scratches but you have to zoom in to see it and some pressure as on a metal ring which links the two chains. The adjustable spring clasp system is like new.
