What's in a name? For Panerai, it holds over a century of meaning. The Radiomir watch from the horologist shares its name with the material upon its dial - namely a patented, luminescent substance that glows in the dark. The model, first released in 1916, was originally made to meet the military requirements of the Italian Royal Navy. Coveted by collectors and connoisseurs, the Radiomir California is released as part of a new series of Radiomir models. Its most notable feature is, naturally, the California dial - this refers to a dial where the hour track offers both Roman and Arabic numerals, with three, six and nine presented as dashes. The watch feels like a genuine military timepiece, with faux weathering to the case and an olive green dial creating a wholly vintage look.
